Wraps and carriers full of happiness and love!

They’re known as the hormones behind love. Serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin are an inseparable trio: each depends on the others, and together they keep a balance between joy, love, happiness, desire and attachment. They help us build relationships and stay in them, enjoy life and get things done.

Dopamine is responsible for the feeling of pleasure and is released during experiences such as sex or eating. It is a key part of the so-called reward system, which makes us want things. It makes the world seem carefree and beautiful and drives us to be active and take action.

While dopamine stimulates us, the second neurotransmitter, serotonin, calms us down.

Serotonin is the elixir of happiness. A rise in serotonin brings a sense of bliss and fulfilment and frees us from everyday cravings – just like a state of nirvana. It controls impulses and gives us a feeling of being in control.

And finally there is oxytocin. It helps us bond with another person – not only when we fall in love, but in all our social contacts.

It makes us more yielding, more cooperative, more empathetic and more trusting – but also more generous and more jealous. Oxytocin is best known as the hormone of breastfeeding and birth. It is released when we cuddle, and most of the benefits of babywearing are linked to it.

These three remarkable substances have made their way onto our wraps and carriers. Each of them is inside us and available right away. All it takes is meeting friends, hugging someone close or carrying your baby in a wrap. Don’t hold back – you can even overdose!
